De Garengeot Hernia
In Maingot R, editor. This paper presents a case report of a De Garengeot hernia patient who presented a good evolution after surgery. Herein we described a case of a 56 year old male patient, who was admitted to our center and finally underwent emergency surgery for an irreducible lump in his right groin.
The sac was opened and seropurulent gagengeot was evacuated.
A computed tomographic CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis was obtained to help differentiate between intraabdominal and localized pathology and to plan our surgical approach. A rare garenveot of acute abdomen: After identification of the sac, the adjacent tissues were dissected, and the sac was opened. Appendiceal diverticulitis in a femoral hernia causing necrotizing fasciitis of the right inguinal region: The appendix was resected and the femoral ring was garegeot with sutures without use of a mesh.
In both cases preoperative CT was utilised to reach the correct diagnosis. Sequentially strangulation can result in acute appendicitis or even worse in perforation and abscess formation. The rest of the wound was closed in layers, by using absorbable sutures for deep subcutaneous layer and staples for skin. The lump was in her right groin and was tender and irreducible. De Garengeot’s hernia in a year-old woman: She also complained ee increasing pain and redness in the right groin.
Fukukura Y, Chang SD. Received Oct 23; Accepted Dec The mesoappendix and the base of the appendix were then stapled and transected separately. Its incidence varies between 0. The swelling was irreducible but not strangulated. Patients reported abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting in 5 Suggest a Hhernia Topic. On assessment the patient was in painful distress, she was tachycardic but otherwise her vital signs were stable.
There is a predisposition for females 1: Thirty-four patients 5 men and 29 women with a mean age of Int J Surg Case Rep Abnormal implantation of the appendix in the cecum, leading to a pelvic appendix, or a large cecum with increased mobility extending into the pelvis can allow incarceration of the appendix in the femoral hernia [4,5].
De Garengeot Hernia
Inguinotomy was performed and after opening the posterior wall of the inguinal canal and hernia sac dissection it was possible to observe the presence of the appendix incarcerated in its interior, without clinical signs of appendicitis Fig. The appendix being present within a femoral hernia is an unusual incidental finding at hdrnia, occurring in 0.
This anatomical phenomenon is thought to occur in as few as 0. This paper reports a rare case of incarcerated femoral hernia containing the appendix inside his sac. No peritoneal signs were elicited, and the remainder of the patient’s physical examination was unremarkable. BMJ Case Rep However, a preoperative diagnosis has herniia been reported in recent studies, mostly through CT [ 5 ].
The hernia sac contained a gangrenous appendix, which was excised and the hernia was repaired with sutures without complication. Authors in such cases reason that it is the delay in surgical intervention rather than the method of hernia repair which influences the risk of surgical site infection [ 182932 ].
Similar to our cases, most cases are done through a groin incision, using one of the femoral hernia repair approaches [ 2324 ]. De Garengeot appendicitis – rare variant of a common medical condition.
